Last summer, we announced the Logitech MX Master 2S mouse with Logitech Flow. This technology allows a single mouse to control several computers at once. By moving the cursor, users can transfer files between different systems. Unlike most models, this mouse is not positioned as a gaming mouse. If you’re looking for the best gaming mouse under 50, check out this article. And we’re back with our interesting review!
Equipment
The mouse comes with a connection adapter, micro-USB charging cable, user manual, and warranty card.
The mouse is delivered in a box with a flap decorated with the company colors. There are pictures of the mouse and technical specifications.
Appearance
The Logitech MX Master 2S comes in three colors of the case: black, gray, and turquoise. Strict style and well-defined lines.
Different types of materials and surfaces are combined. The thing is of very high quality; there are no knocks and creaks.
The mouse body is asymmetrical, so it is suitable only for right-handed people. Under your thumb, there is a rubber insert with a textured pattern.
At the base of the protrusion, there is an additional gesture button. When clamped, depending on one of the four directions of the mouse, the action will change. As a result, up to five commands can be written to one element.
Closer to the front is a three-level LED indicator. When you turn it on, it lights up briefly, displaying the remaining battery power.
On the side, there is an additional scroll wheel with two triangular buttons. The location of the item is convenient.
The main buttons of the Logitech MX Master 2S are separated from the main body. Switches with high durability are used.
Between them is a scroll wheel with longitudinal protrusions and chrome trim on the edges. A compact button is behind the wheel. The micro USB connector is located in the center of the front panel. Here it is used only to restore the charge of the built-in battery. The wired connection is not used.
There are four Teflon feet on the bottom. In the center of the window, there is a sensor, a mechanical switch, as well as a button to switch the system. Initially, there is a sticker describing the operation on the central element.
The outer surfaces of the mouse are not susceptible to contamination by fingerprints. The build quality is good. The overall weight is about 150 grams.
The mouse we were testing stopped working after a few days of use. We were unable to find any confirmation of this problem on the net, but it is worth taking it into consideration.
Software
The mouse supports software control. The main window displays an image of the Logitech MX Master 2S in two perspectives with quick access to control settings.
The available commands are displayed in the form of a list of options. There are 58 such presets stored in the program memory. A separate list is under the second scroll wheel.
There are two levels of sensitivity. There is no usual digital display of the current level. The adjustment range is from 200 to 4000DPI, but the current level can be determined only approximately. There is a separate tab under the control button gesture control.
FLOW technology support is available. It allows you to use the mouse with multiple systems, transferring files between them. You can also switch between systems automatically by moving the cursor to the edge of the screen. During the test, we had some problems with transferring files containing Cyrillic letters in their names.
Summary of the Logitech MX Master 2S
The Logitech MX Master 2S will be a good choice as a mouse for work tasks. On the bright side, there are two wireless connection options, a sensor with high DPI, two different ways of clicking the scroll wheel, an ergonomic case, long battery life without the expense of batteries, additional buttons, and support for technologies that simplify the work. The disadvantages include the problem with transferring files with Cyrillic names, the potential risk of wheel breakage, and the lack of a clear display of DPI level.
