PewDiePie vs. T-Series is the talk of the YouTube community. The battle to be on top and be YouTube’s most subscribed channel is finally resolved.
It has been a long battle ever since 2018. The battle was closely monitored over a span of eight months.
First, T-Series temporarily overtook PewDiePie on multiple occasions in 2019.
For five consecutive days, it was the most subscribed channel. After that, PewDiePie was leading the subscriber game for two weeks.
On May 29, 2019, T-Series reached 100 million subscribers, surpassing the Swedish YouTuber PewDiePie permanently.
In the long battle, fans supported PewDiePie with a campaign.
They even spammed T-series YouTube videos with comments full of insults. But to no avail.
T-Series is India’s top music brand. PewDiePie, whose real name is Felix Kjellberg, has been criticized for his racist comments online. His jokes are often anti-Semitic.
The eight-month-long competition was neck to neck. Eventually, T-series took the lead.
This ping-pong of most subscribed YouTube channels has made both the channels the top two on the platform.
The third most subscribed channel on YouTube is Cocomelon – Nursery Rhymes.
Current Situation on PewDiePie vs. T-Series.
As of today, T-series has 131 million subscribers. The channel is leading PewDiePie with 28 million subscribers.
PewDiePie has 103 million subscribers currently. Also, T-series has more views than PewDiePie’s channel does.
The YouTube subscribers and views only signify the popularity of a channel. A lot of the new subscribers post-battle could also be just fake bot accounts created by fans.
Additionally, the battle has so many fans engaged on other social media platforms. Some Twitter fan accounts posted updates about the subscriber number on an hourly basis.
A lot of YouTube channels were closely monitoring who will be the winner of the subscriber war.
Both channels have a gap of 28 million subscribers.
It doesn’t seem likely that PewDiePie will cross the milestone of 131 million anytime soon.
